Fair «Giáo dục Hoa Kỳ EducationUSA 2026» (U.S. Education)

#education fair#study in the usa#educationusa#scholarships#us consulate general#ho chi minh city

About the event

   Half an afternoon in central Ho Chi Minh City can replace months of emailing admissions offices: representatives of 60 American universities and colleges will be standing at their tables, answering questions about programmes, entry requirements and money in person. If studying in the United States is a plan for you rather than a daydream, this is the shortest route from an intention to a real shortlist.

   The fair is run by the EducationUSA office at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City — the State Department's official advising network, not a commercial agency. The afternoon falls into two distinct halves: first a talk on visas, then an open exhibition floor.

   What the programme holds:

  • — 13:30 — the registration desk opens;
  • — 14:00 – 14:55 — a Consular Officer walks through student visa procedures;
  • — 15:00 — opening remarks by a Consulate representative;
  • — 15:05 – 19:00 — the exhibition floor is open to all comers;
  • — levels covered: community college, bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes, summer schools, certificate courses and English language study;
  • — scholarships from the institutions themselves, plus scholarship programmes funded by the U.S. government.

   It suits final-year school students and their parents, university students weighing a master's abroad, and anyone whose paperwork is ready but whose visa questions are not: the early session is built for exactly that.

   The autumn EducationUSA fair is an annual fixture. In 2025 the same 60 accredited institutions travelled through three cities — Hanoi on 24 September, Ho Chi Minh City on 26 September and Da Nang on 27 September — and the southern leg was held in this very hotel.

   The interest runs both ways. Open Doors figures quoted by U.S. diplomats in the autumn of 2025 put Vietnam sixth in the world for students sent to American campuses: 22,066 people in the 2023–2024 academic year, close to half of them in STEM fields.

   The venue is the tower on the corner of Hai Bà Trưng and Lê Duẩn, which used to carry the InterContinental Saigon name. The list of participating institutions is still being finalised by the organisers, so register early if you want the updates.

   Bring a notebook and a set of questions worked out in advance — that afternoon is long enough to walk every table and leave with a shortlist genuinely worth applying to.
