About the event

   An empty shelf or a menu you have to cut always costs more than a business trip. That is why importers, chefs and retail buyers are heading to Ho Chi Minh City: food and beverage producers from around the world are coming to meet Vietnamese partners face to face, with samples on the table instead of an email thread.

   The SIAL network — the world's largest family of food exhibitions, with 60 years behind it — is launching a Vietnamese edition for the first time. Until now it ran shows in Paris, Canada, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Malaysia and Indonesia; Vietnam becomes the seventh destination. The debut edition covers the full chain, from raw produce and processing to packaging technology, retail and food service.

   The floor is built around eight product sectors, so you can plan a route between the stands in advance.

   At a glance — what the stands will show:

  • — chilled and frozen food;
  • — sweets and confectionery;
  • — cereals, edible fruits and nuts;
  • — convenience and ready-to-eat food;
  • — food processing and packaging technology;
  • — oils, spices and condiments;
  • — beverages;
  • — coffee and tea.

   The show is aimed at trade professionals: distributors, wholesalers and agents, importers and exporters, supermarket and convenience-store buyers, restaurant and cafe groups, institutional caterers, hotels and resorts, e-commerce platforms. What you take home is direct contact with producers rather than middlemen, tastings of products before they reach Vietnamese shelves, and a shot at distribution rights ahead of competitors. Major buyers also get a business matching system that lets them preview stands and book one-on-one meetings in advance.

   The Vietnamese premiere runs alongside Vietnam Foodexpo and Foodexpo International, the country's flagship food event staged by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Bộ Công Thương). All three open on the same day under the same roof, so a single visit covers both international suppliers and Vietnamese manufacturers.

   The reasoning behind the launch is straightforward: Vietnam is the fourth-largest food and beverage market in Southeast Asia and a country of 100 million consumers whose appetite for clean, safe and sustainable products is climbing fast, while the whole value chain — sourcing, production, retail, out-of-home dining — adapts to new regulations and sustainability standards.

   The venue sits in the international trade and finance district in the south of the city and keeps a dense schedule: more than forty international shows are on its 2026 calendar. SIAL occupies Exhibition Hall B, and badges are issued in section B2.

   Admission is free but not open to everyone: this is a closed B2B format. You register online in advance; turn up without it and you will still have to fill in the form on site from a phone or laptop, because the organisers verify that you work in the industry. A QR code then arrives by email and is exchanged for a badge at the entrance. Visitors under 17 are not admitted.

   A full interactive exhibitor directory is promised one month before the opening, and visitor registration will go live on the official website. Companies that would rather exhibit than browse can apply here.

   If you have been putting off that conversation with suppliers all year, this is the week they come to you.
