Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how personal data of users of the CityGuide online resource, available at cityguide.vn and all its subdomains ("CityGuide", the "Site"), is processed and protected.

The data controller is the CityGuide.vn site administration (the "Operator", "we"). Contact for privacy matters: [email protected].

This Policy is drawn up in accordance with the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, including Government Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP on Personal Data Protection.

1. Data We Process

1.1. Data you provide directly:

  • when submitting forms on the Site (e.g. "Add a place/event", contact form): name or nickname, email address, phone or messenger, social media links, and any information you include in your message;
  • when taking part in Site programs (e.g. rewards for submitted events): details needed to contact you and pay the reward.

1.2. Data collected automatically:

  • technical data: IP address, device and browser type, language, country and city of connection, pages visited and time of visit;
  • cookies and similar technologies (see the Cookie Policy).

We use third-party analytics services: Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Yandex.Metrica (Yandex LLC). The Site's infrastructure is provided by our hosting provider and the CDN service Cloudflare, Inc.

1.3. Publicly available information about events and organisations. CityGuide is an information resource about events and places. We collect and publish publicly available information about events, venues and organisers: names, descriptions, dates, addresses, programmes, posters and public business contact details. Sources include official websites, public social media pages and announcements made by organisers themselves. This information is processed for the purpose of informing our audience about city life. If you are an organiser or rights holder and wish to correct, supplement or remove information about you or your event, write to [email protected]; we will handle your request within a reasonable time, normally no more than 5 business days.

1.4. We do not process special categories of personal data (health, biometrics, religious or political views, etc.) and do not knowingly collect data of children under 16. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data without parental or guardian consent, please contact us and the data will be deleted.

2. Purposes of Processing

We process data in order to:

  • operate the Site and its features;
  • publish and keep up to date information about events and places;
  • handle your submissions and enquiries;
  • pay rewards under Site programs (where you take part in them);
  • analyse traffic and improve the Site (statistics are aggregated and de-identified where possible);
  • ensure security and prevent abuse;
  • comply with legal requirements.

3. Legal Grounds

Processing is based on: (a) your consent (e.g. when submitting a form); (b) performance of our agreement with you (the Terms of Use); (c) the Operator's legitimate interests in informing the audience and operating the Site; (d) the requirements of Vietnamese law.

4. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell personal data. Data may be shared with:

  • technical service providers (hosting, CDN, analytics) acting on our instructions and required to protect the data;
  • Vietnamese state authorities, in the cases and manner provided by law.

Cross-border transfers. The Site's servers and analytics services may be located outside Vietnam (including the EU and the US). Where data is transferred, we take measures to protect it in accordance with applicable law.

5. Retention

Data is kept no longer than necessary for the purposes of processing, unless a different period is required by law. Once the purposes are achieved, data is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your Rights

Under Decree 13/2023/ND-CP you have the right to:

  • know what data of yours is processed and access it;
  • request rectification, restriction or deletion of your data;
  • withdraw your consent;
  • object to processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the competent state authority.

Send requests to [email protected] from an address that allows us to identify you. We respond within 10 business days; deletion is carried out within 30 calendar days of receiving the request, unless the law requires otherwise.

7. Security

We apply organisational and technical safeguards: restricted access to data, encrypted connections (HTTPS), firewalling and access logging. In the event of an incident affecting personal data, we will notify the competent authority and affected users in the manner and within the time limits required by Vietnamese law.

8. Third-Party Links

The Site contains links to organisers' websites, ticketing services and social networks. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices — please review their policies separately.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The new version takes effect upon publication on this page, with the publication date shown at the top. Material changes will additionally be announced on the Site.
