Career fair «German Career Day 2026»

   A German university, a vocational training centre, an employer and a visa adviser — reaching all four normally takes a month of emails. In Ho Chi Minh City they share a single hall for one morning: booths run by German companies, universities and training providers, short information sessions and one-to-one advice, with no sign-up needed.

   Almost the entire German network in Vietnam stands behind the fair. The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City runs it together with AHK Vietnam, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce, GIZ, the German development agency, Goethe-Institut and DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service. The exhibitor list is curated rather than open: companies and institutions applied in advance and were picked by the organising partners.

   The fair is aimed at senior school pupils and students choosing a direction, at graduates holding a degree or a vocational certificate who want a job in Germany, and at qualified workers who would rather talk to an employer directly than hear it second-hand from an agent. This year's poster draws three figures — a healthcare worker, a worker in a hard hat and a chef. Parents are worth bringing along: the questions about money, timelines and recognition of Vietnamese qualifications are better asked once, together.

   The format is not new to the city. In November 2024 German Career Day was held in the same Deutsches Haus and in the same morning slot, while a parallel series runs in Hanoi at the Goethe-Institut. The organisers describe the 2026 edition as the Hanoi experience carried south.

   Visitors do not register, they simply turn up within the announced hours. The working language of the fair has not been announced separately: the call went out in Vietnamese and English, and the language requirements for German pathways are themselves one of the advice topics.
