Concert «Phú Quang – Còn mãi một tình yêu» (A Love That Remains)

   Five years after composer Phu Quang (Phú Quang) passed away, his songs about Hanoi, love and longing fill a whole evening at Nhà hát Hồ Gươm (Hồ Gươm Opera), sung by artists long associated with his music. If his songs have followed you through Hanoi's seasons, this is a night to keep free.

   The concert is co-organised by Nhà hát Hồ Gươm and Phu Quang Music & Arts and hosted by People's Artist Le Khanh (Lê Khanh). On stage:

• — People's Artists Thanh Lam and Tan Minh (Tấn Minh), with Thuy Dung (Thùy Dung), Hong Nhung (Hồng Nhung), Trong Tan (Trọng Tấn) and Bao Yen (Bảo Yến);
• — saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan (Trần Mạnh Tuấn);
• — the band Black Rose;
• — conductor Tran Nhat Minh (Trần Nhật Minh) with a symphony orchestra.

   The evening has two layers: a symphonic part under Tran Nhat Minh that brings out the instrumental depth of Phu Quang's writing, and the familiar songs in contemporary arrangements by Tran Viet Anh (Trần Việt Anh), the music director, who was Phu Quang's student and close collaborator during his years in the south. Director Pham Hoang Nam (Phạm Hoàng Nam) builds the stage as a «Room of Memories».

   In 2026 the composer's family formally took over his musical legacy, and all three of his children work on the show: pianist Nguyen Trinh Huong (Nguyễn Trinh Hương) as artistic director, Nguyen Giang Huong (Nguyễn Giáng Hương) as editor and Nguyen Phu Vuong (Nguyễn Phú Vương) on visual design.

   «Phu Quang's music has a strange magic. The same melodies never tire you however often you hear them, and with every year they sink in deeper», says Le Khanh.

   The night is for those who grew up with Phu Quang's songs and for younger listeners who want to hear them in new arrangements, with a symphony orchestra on stage.

   One evening for Hanoi to hear Phu Quang again, and for that love to stay.
