Burger festival «Hanoi Burger Festival 2026»

   Once a year the city's best burger kitchens leave their own dining rooms, set up side by side and settle the argument in public, with the crowd acting as the judge. You work your way through every stall, then cast a single vote, and the winner carries the title of the capital's best burger until the following autumn.

   The format is run by 1008, the agency previously known as Hanoi Events, which has been building the city's food calendar since 2017, from taco festivals to the Christmas market. The first burger edition took place in 2024: according to Việt Nam News, more than 800 guests came through in a single day and put away over 2 500 burgers. The title went to Chops for To Brie Or Not To Brie — a breaded wheel of deep-fried cheese, double smash patties and an IPA chutney. Mischief & Mayhem finished second with a burger built on imported New Zealand lamb.

   Last year's edition brought together seven vendors — Chops, Mischief & Mayhem, Reds Burger, Cube B&B, Dreamers & Seekers, Wicked Burgers and Naco Burger — and added a spicy burger eating contest and the Chops slider showdown to the tasting. The previous two editions were hosted by The 100 Garden in Tây Hồ, while this one moves to Sala Nature Garden. In January 2026 the format travelled south for the first time and ran in Ho Chi Minh City as the Capichi Burger Festival with five local kitchens.

   It is built as a family day out: at past editions children under eight got in free, live bands and DJs played through the afternoon, and the adults moved from stall to stall comparing notes. If you prefer to judge food with your own mouth rather than by rating, this is the rare afternoon where a dozen kitchens can be compared in one go. Writing about the first edition for Việt Nam News, Alex Reeves said the day succeeded in feeding the masses in a celebration of community and craft.

   For now the organisers are keeping their cards close: apart from the date and venue, the announcement says only that the city's burger showdown is back and that details will follow. When you plan the day, keep the old routine in mind — the ticket buys entry, everything you eat and drink is paid for at the stalls. Come hungry, because an honest vote needs an empty stomach.
