Culture and ArtsWorking for years in silk and watercolor, artist Truong Van Ngoc (Trương Văn Ngọc) invites visitors to pause amid Hanoi's fast pace and listen to the breath of nature in a solo exhibition at Art Space, 42 Yết Kiêu.
«Lời Ru Mênh Mông» (The Vast Lullaby) opens at 3pm on 20 September and runs through 28 September, showing two bodies of work the artist has pursued in parallel for years: silk painting and watercolor. On the soft, weightless surface of silk, figure and ground dissolve into one another in the rhythm of earth and sky, and the boundary between object and space gradually disappears, leaving room for contemplation. The watercolors carry a more liberated, luminous spirit — layers of pigment flow like clouds, like water, like the breath of nature itself.
In his own notes, the artist describes the work as a journey of listening to and entering into dialogue with nature, where the painter no longer stands outside as an observer but becomes part of that same rhythm — material, emotion and subject merging into one current.
The show suits anyone drawn to Vietnam's silk-painting tradition, visitors looking for a quiet, contemplative space, and travellers who simply want a few minutes away from the city's rush.
If you need a moment of calm away from busy Hanoi streets, this is a reason to stop by Art Space before the show closes.
