Exhibition «Trong Một Thế Giới Chung» (In a Shared World)

About the event

Five artists, three lines of thought — history, culture and religion: the exhibition «In a Shared World» at Indochine House invites you through separate worlds that coexist within one shared world.

   The artists:

  • — Trần Hoàng Sơn (b. 1972) — traditional silk painting linking religious imagery with modern life and the bond between people and nature
  • — Lê Quý Tông (b. 1977) — since the early 2000s, a language of «grey areas» that lets history and human fate be seen from many angles
  • — Nguyễn Hồng Đức (b. 1980) — networks of images where many private worlds appear within one larger whole
  • — Nguyễn Thế Hùng (b. 1981) — layers of lacquer as a metaphor for accumulation passed down through generations
  • — Đoàn Văn Tới (b. 1989) — conceptual silk installations reflecting on motion and stillness

The show offers no verdict on right and wrong and no manifesto on how to live: distinct viewpoints coexist, intersect and illuminate one another.

The exhibition is on the 3rd floor of 8 Tràng Thi, open Tuesday to Sunday, with free admission. Visitors are asked to park at the National Library (31 Tràng Thi).

Set aside some time on Tràng Thi to meet five ways of looking at the world we share.
