Exhibition «Cõi đời đã đẹp hết cỡ, hãy làm cho nó thêm phần rực rỡ» (The world is already beautiful — let us make it dazzling)

About the event

A painter living in 2026 and a scientist from 2136 share the authorship of one project. The second one does not exist, or does not exist yet, and that gap is what holds the whole show together in a basement gallery on Hàng Trống.

The Vietnamese title translates roughly as «this world is perfectly stunning, let us make it truly blinding». What waits downstairs is not a conventional hang of paintings but a spatial experiment built on a speculative narrative. You are placed at the crossing of two timelines: the present-day studio of Tèo Phạm, where strange creatures are born from pure artistic intuition, and the ruined 22nd-century laboratory of T.P, where extreme scientific intervention has hit a dead end.

The juxtaposition sets up the central question:

  • — where the irrationality of art ends and the logic of science begins
  • — whether the creatures on canvas are images, or biological top-secret keys waiting to be woken up
  • — whether a century-old sketch by an unknown painter can be the last resort for a collapsing future

Tèo Phạm, born Phạm Văn Vũ in 1996 in Liên Nghĩa in Lâm Đồng, later moved to Da Lat with his family, graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts in 2020 and now lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City. He has shown in «Same Same But Different» at The Factory and «Foliage IV» at VCCA, and his solo runs have drawn real attention, including two chapters of a project about the digestive system staged at Uom Art Hub and at Mơ Art Space itself.

Go if you like contemporary art with a script, and prefer walking into a space with its own rules over walking past a row of framed canvases. The gallery sits three floors below street level in the Hoàn Kiếm district, a short walk from the lake.

You leave feeling you have read the first chapter of a novel nobody has written yet.
