Race «Garmin Run Vietnam 2026»

A riverside loop familiar to Saigon's running community - flat, low on turns, lined with greenery - is set to welcome around 8,500 runners as Garmin Run returns to Vietnam for a fifth time, carrying the theme "From Zero to Hero" for anyone willing to start their own journey.

Launched in 2022, the Garmin Run Marathon Series has already run through Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan and Vietnam. 2026 marks the series' first crossing into the United States, bringing the 2026-2027 stretch to 13 cities in total. In Vietnam, this year's field grows nearly 40% from close to 6,000 finishers in 2025.

   Key facts:

Race day: 18 October 2026, Sunday
Venue: Saigon Riverside Park, An Khanh, Ho Chi Minh City - the Sala area familiar to the local running community
Distances: 5km, 10km, 21km
Companion categories: the existing 10km Couple Run and a new 5km Couple Run added for 2026, aimed at couples, groups of friends and newer runners

Organisers say they will adjust parts of the route and the event zone to improve on previous editions. Beyond the race itself, Garmin Run keeps developing as a sports festival: a tech and smartwatch experience zone, a post-run recovery area, a community meet-up corner and a station for personalising race gear. Both the race kit and the finisher medal have been upgraded from last year.

Ahead of race day, the Garmin Run Club runs a "Road To Garmin" training series in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with coached sessions to help participants prepare physically and technically.

Ivan Lai, Garmin Vietnam's regional director, said: "With Garmin Run, we hope to keep building an active lifestyle culture, inspire more people to start their own journeys, and connect Vietnam's growing runner community."

The race suits everyday runners after a festive day out alongside the competition, couples and friend groups looking to run a short distance together, and committed runners chasing a longer-term challenge: finishing 10 of the series' 13 stops across 2026-2027 earns a personalised 18K gold-plated medal. If you have run at Sala in an earlier edition, this is a chance to see how far you have come.

Registration and the detailed schedule are on Garmin's official event page; questions go to the Garmin Run Club Facebook page.
