Cycling festival «Saigontourist Group vì cộng đồng 2026»

   For two days at the end of August the city hands its streets to bicycles: from the square in front of the Opera House out to the mangrove forests of Cần Giờ, opening with a 600 km endurance challenge. This is the first time the programme has been staged.

   It is led by Saigontourist Group together with the Ho Chi Minh City Cycling Sports Federation. Three main events fit into two days:

• — 04:00 on 29 August — the Audax 600 km endurance challenge starts at Công trường Lam Sơn, with about 150 Vietnamese and international riders expected
• — 06:00 on 30 August — opening ceremony and community parade, expected to draw more than 1,000 people over roughly 5.1 km through the centre
• — 08:30 on 30 August — the Saigontourist Group Cup race in the Bình Khánh – Cần Giờ area
• — 12:00–14:00 on 30 August — closing ceremony and awards at the Sài Gòn – Cần Giờ eco-tourism resort

   The Cần Giờ race runs through a UNESCO-recognised biosphere reserve, while the Audax route crosses several districts of the city's newly redrawn administrative map; the organisers frame it as both a physical test and a way of showing the destination from a saddle.

   The parade is open to cycling clubs, company staff, guests and residents who simply like riding, so you do not need to be an athlete to take part. The competitive race is for clubs and amateur riders from the city and neighbouring provinces.

   Cao Van Chong (Cao Văn Chóng), general director of Saigontourist Group and head of the organising committee, says the aim is «a journey connecting people with health, with the city and with the community». Within the programme the company is donating 51 bicycles to students in difficulty and Mid-Autumn gifts to disadvantaged children.
