Charity football tournament «BritCham's Charity Football Tournament 2026»

   A Sunday morning on the pitches of RMIT in Ho Chi Minh City belongs to corporate football: sixteen company teams play knockout football for the Champion Cup, and every entry fee goes into the charity fund of the British business community. You can enter a squad of colleagues, or simply take a spot on the touchline and cheer for one.

   The schedule runs from early morning to early afternoon. Captains register on behalf of their teams first, then come six rounds of group play: sixteen teams in four groups, with the top two of each group going through to the quarter-finals, then semi-finals, the final and the award ceremony. A squad is 7 players plus 7 substitutes, and lunch and refreshments for all fourteen are covered by the team fee.

   The tournament is built for corporate sides, from offices of multinationals to small local outfits, and the organisers make a point of not filtering by skill. For spectators it is a full Sunday outdoors: you follow your colleagues through the group stage, cheer them on and stay for the trophy.

   This is an annual fixture: previous editions were played on 19 November 2023, 24 November 2024 and 30 November 2025, the last two also on the RMIT pitches. The organiser is the British Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (BritCham), which by its own account has been present in the country since 1991 and in 1998 became the first foreign business group in Vietnam to be formally licensed.

   Everything raised goes to the BritCham Charity Fund. The chamber publishes how it splits the money: 40% as steady support for four long-standing partner non-profits — Christina Noble Children's Foundation, Saigon Children's Charity, Newborns Vietnam and Blue Dragon Children's Foundation; another 40% as project grants for charities applying openly; the remaining 20% held back for emergency disaster relief.

   The fee is charged per team rather than per player: 13,000,000 VND for member companies and 14,500,000 VND for everyone else, both including lunch and refreshments for the whole squad. No separate charge for spectators is listed by the organisers. One more thing worth knowing: the day is photographed and filmed for the chamber's own channels, so anyone who prefers to stay out of frame should say so in advance.
