TEDx event «TEDxTanDinh #01 – Redefining Definitions»

   An afternoon spent taking apart the words you thought were settled — success, learning, readiness. This is the first TEDx event run by the Tan Dinh community in Ho Chi Minh City, and the room holds only 100 people, so the ticket buys you a conversation rather than a seat in a lecture hall.

   The event is licensed by TED and organised independently under the global TEDx rules. Its theme, «Redefining Definitions», comes from the name itself: «Tan» means looking with new eyes, «Dinh» stands for the definitions we rarely question.

   Six talks, six definitions rewritten:

• — Nguyen Thi Minh Dang — author on Vietnamese Zen and a practitioner of Truc Lam Zen: «Zen and learning».
• — Nguyen Tien Dat — finswimmer on the Vietnam national team, twice a SEA Games gold medallist (SEA Games 31 and 32), studying mathematical economics alongside his sports career: «Sport and study».
• — Do Cam Ly — Vietnam's representative at Miss Cosmo 2026, a graduate in international relations: «Readiness».
• — Nguyen Duc Quy — AI researcher at IMAS: «How AI learns».
• — Phan Hong An — Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer at Hippo Harvest, with more than 15 years in data infrastructure and AI across Vietnam and Silicon Valley: «Generative in generative AI».
• — Dr Tracy Trang — Country Director of QTS Australia in Vietnam, on raising global citizens without cutting their roots.

   If you work in technology, education, business, the arts or sport and want to spend a Saturday with people outside your own field, this is built for you. The organisers describe the audience as curated, and the small room is the point.

   The ticket also makes you a founding member of the Tan Dinh Community, which continues through the year with TEDxTanDinh Studio, Salon evenings, community gatherings, learning circles, a speaker lab and an Art for Impact strand.

   The venue sits inside the ETown Central tower at the foot of Calmet Bridge, in what used to be District 4 — about ten minutes by taxi from the Ben Thanh area. Two early tiers have already closed; the current tier opened on 1 August.
