Music Festival «MUSICALAND» 2026

   Vietnam's independent scene usually has to be pieced together: small clubs, rare solo shows, releases only the subscribers know about. Once a year those artists share one site and play back to back for a whole day — and that is when you hear that «indie» here has long become an industry of its own, with its own names and its own crowd.

   In brief:

• an independent-scene festival from the Overline Vietnam ecosystem;

   The first edition took place on 12 July 2025 at Capital Theater in Ho Chi Minh City and gathered ten acts from the Vietnamese independent scene: The Cassette, Giấy Gấp, Lope Dope, Truant Fu, THEMÈO, The Sans, Đá Tới, meyi, the singer Trang and the duo Minh Tốc & Lam, with Phương Cào as guest artist. Indie rock, pop and rap projects stood side by side — that is exactly the point of the programme.

   Overline Vietnam is a Ho Chi Minh City company working with independent musicians: it films live sessions, runs its own projects and puts on concerts. The festival is its annual showcase — everything that lived in clubs and on video all year is brought onto a big stage in a single day.

   Come if you are curious about Vietnamese music beyond radio rotation and TV shows. For a foreign listener it is a rare chance: this scene barely tours and rarely surfaces in English-language round-ups, yet here you can take it in within one day. The lyrics are mostly in Vietnamese, but the music reads without the language.
