Market «Weekend Wander Fair»

   Stock up on school supplies, trade a book you have finished for one you have not, and stay on for an acoustic set after dark — in Thảo Điền, the leafy expat quarter east of the Saigon River, all three fit into a single outing. For three days the open plaza between the shophouses turns into a neighbourhood weekend market.

   The Weekend Hub team is bringing its local market back to a familiar address, Q2Terrace: an open space ringed by shophouses, in a part of town where young Vietnamese families and expats live side by side. This edition is built around the back-to-school season, and the programme has three anchors:

• — Back to School Corner — stalls with everything for the new school year: parents browse stationery and supplies while the kids pick out what they actually like.
• — Book Swap — bring one book, take one book: leave a title you have read and that is still in good shape on the shared shelf, then carry a different one home.
• — Live music — an acoustic evening on Saturday, under string lights.

   It suits families who have that back-to-school shopping ahead of them anyway, book lovers, and anyone after an unhurried weekend: walk the aisles, talk to the makers, sit down for the music. The swap shelf works both ways, so it pays to choose a book at home before you set off.

   Q2Terrace is a regular home for Weekend Hub rather than a one-off booking: the same courtyard has hosted the team's Tết market and their eco-themed «Phiên chợ Xanh». Beyond Thảo Điền, the crew also runs markets at Green Box and SOMA Saigon.

   Vendors, makers and small brands can apply for a stall through the organizers' vendor sign-up form.
