Ban Mai Stage - Children's Musical: Lang So Lay
San Khau Ban Mai - Nha Thieu Nhi Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh
190,000 ₫ – 350,000 ₫
Family and KidsA princess used to getting her way, three fairies and a couple of hours of learning to listen. Ho Chi Minh City's children's stages spend the summer competing with screens on their own terms — live singing, choreography and costumes bright enough to hold a five-year-old — and the lessons about kindness and sharing arrive through the plot rather than through a lecture.
Written and directed by Quốc Thảo, the musical opened on 1 June 2026, Vietnam's Children's Day, and has stayed in the summer repertoire since. The story follows the princess growing up the hard way: everything has always been done for her, until a meeting with three fairies leaves her to work things out on her own.
The essentials
Writer and director: Quốc Thảo
Genre: children's musical — singing, dance and gentle comedy
Cast: 16 actors, among them Vương Thanh Tâm, Minh Huy, Thành Hưng, Hồng Ngọc, Thảo Như, Quốc Lynh
Young performers: 7 children — Gia An, Phương Nghi, Hải Băng, Ngọc Duy, Ngọc Tiến, Minh Ngọc, Anh Thư
This one is aimed at families with preschool and primary-school kids. Children get to watch performers their own age on a real stage, and parents get an afternoon sitting next to them with nobody reaching for a phone.
Sân khấu Quốc Thảo has run since 2017 as both a working repertory stage and an acting school. It stands on Nguyễn Văn Trỗi, the road linking Tân Sơn Nhất airport to the centre, which makes it a short taxi ride from downtown.
Four price tiers correspond to where you sit in the hall: Gold is the top category, followed by Silver and Bronze. School and university students have a tier of their own at 100,000 ₫, close to three times cheaper than the highest one. Booking online, you pick seats from the hall plan, up to 10 tickets per order.
The musical is performed in Vietnamese. Music, choreography and physical comedy carry most of the action, so the story stays easy to follow without the language.
Seats are chosen from the plan at checkout — book on Ticketbox. Two hours of live theatre make a better Saturday than another afternoon indoors with a tablet.
