Screening & discussion «There Will Be Blood» — ViCo PizzaMovie

A film about appetite with no ceiling, watched in a small bar with pizza in the ticket price — and afterwards everyone stays to argue about it. If you watch films to talk about them rather than just to watch, this one is for you.

«There Will Be Blood» by Paul Thomas Anderson is a searing deconstruction of the American Dream: through oil prospector Daniel Plainview it shows how greed, capitalism and religion can become hollow, monstrous forces — a man who reaches absolute wealth and power only to lose his humanity and end up utterly alone. The screening is part of the ViCo PizzaMovie series, Thursday 24 September, 19:00–21:30, at 419.Cocktails & Cine Bar, 158/6 Nguyen Cong Tru. The hosts suggest watching how every relationship in the film is a transaction — father and son, oilman and preacher, partner and rival.

For film lovers who enjoy a post-screening discussion in a small group. Tickets 140,000 VND, ViCo members 80,000 VND, pizza included; book your spot with the organisers.

The film is in English; the source says nothing about subtitles.

Afterwards, answer for yourself: when does ambition stop building a life and start hollowing one out?
