Hanoi ABP 2026 — Hanoi Asian British Parliamentary Debate Championship

   Hanoi ABP 2026 (Hanoi Asian British Parliamentary Debate Championship 2026) is an international university debating championship held in Hanoi from 22 to 29 August 2026. The tournament runs on the campus of VinUniversity in the Vinhomes Ocean Park township. ABP (Asian British Parliamentary) is one of Asia's largest annual university debating tournaments: teams travel in from universities across the region and the working language is English.

   The championship is debated in the British Parliamentary format — the same format used at the World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC):

• four teams of two speakers each argue in every round;
• the teams take four positions: Opening Government, Opening Opposition, Closing Government and Closing Opposition;
• the motion is released shortly before the round begins, so nothing can be prepared in advance;
• panels of adjudicators judge each debate and rank the four teams.

   Motions and judging are the responsibility of the tournament's Chief Adjudication Panel:

• Chief Adjudicators: Banun Sabri, Bea Cuizon;
• Deputy Chief Adjudicators: Mahor Nagda, Anum Naseer, Cavan Tay;
• WUDC Representative: Udai Kamath.

   Entry is by team, through institutional registration: the first phase of institutional registration ran from 15 March to 16 April 2026. The tournament applies the N-1 judge rule — each institution brings one judge fewer than the number of teams it registers. The participation fee is USD 440 per participant and covers:

• seven nights of accommodation at the four-star Army Hotel;
• lunch on all competition days;
• venue use at the VinUniversity campus;
• a daily shuttle bus between the hotel and the venue;
• airport pick-up.

   For participants who need financial support, the organisers have set up a scholarship fund of USD 3,000. The tournament is run by Hanoi ABP 2026; announcements and details are published on the event's Facebook page.
