«Plain after Plain»: short films, conversation and zine-making

   An afternoon in Hanoi built around reading, short films, conversation and hand-made zines, with climate change, migration and the places people leave behind as its subject.

   It is run by the Green Path Migrants collective together with CA' Library, which sits inside the MComplex interior centre at Royal City.

   The essentials:

   A zine is a self-made, small-run publication assembled by hand from text, cut-outs and drawings. For stories about displacement the form does something a lecture cannot: it lets the account stay fragmentary, which is how memory of a lost place actually works.

   Come if you follow climate and migration questions, or simply want an afternoon of making things among people who do. The setting is worth noting too — an interior solutions centre of more than 12,000 m² holding some two hundred brands, with a specialist architecture and art library inside it.

   No participation fee is listed anywhere in the announcement, so ask when you register.
