Music night «Bóng Mây Qua Thềm» (Cloud Shadow on the Porch) at Thoáng Acoustic

   The Sunday set is built as a send-off for the weekend: slow acoustic ballads that the venue openly calls healing. The point of the evening is to let the week go before the next one starts, and to do it to live music rather than a playlist in your headphones.

   The title «Bóng Mây Qua Thềm» literally describes the shadow of a cloud slipping across a doorstep — an image of transience set for the programme in advance. The music is described as acoustic you can drift through, note by note. The evening is carried by two musicians: vocalist Minh Thu and guitarist Quang Diệu.

   Thoáng Acoustic stands on Quán Sứ, a few minutes from the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem lake, on the upper floor of the Drop In café. The room places the musicians a few steps from the tables rather than behind a barrier.

   This suits anyone who dislikes Sunday bustle and would rather close the weekend quietly. It also makes a convenient introduction to the local acoustic scene if the rest of the week is spoken for.

   A slow Sunday in an old house is a decent way to see the week out.
