Jazz night «The Syndicate of Four» at Blake's House of Jazz

Every Thursday 21:00

About the event

No two Thursdays at Blake's House of Jazz sound quite the same: four musicians meet on stage, listen, respond and let the music unfold. If you want to watch improvisation take shape rather than just hear a finished tune, this is your night in central Hanoi.

On stage is The Syndicate of Four, the club's resident modern jazz quartet: instrumental, improvised, an intimate evening of rhythm, harmony and spontaneous conversation. According to the club's page, the line-up is Viet Hai (guitar), Hong Quang (piano), Mai Son (drums) and Tuan Luong (bass).

It suits listeners who like jazz without words and enjoy hearing a piece change as it is played; the club keeps vocal standards for other nights of the week.

Blake's House of Jazz was founded in 2022 by a group of friends who wanted the kind of jazz club they would want to spend an evening in: live jazz played close to the audience, with cocktails and drinks alongside.

The quartet plays every Thursday; the bar is open 19:00–00:30. The programme is as listed on the club's website in early October: night titles and line-ups change from time to time, and on special nights the programme and start time may differ. Every live jazz show carries an entrance fee, payable at the end of your visit; the club does not publish the amount on its website.

Book through the form on the club's website, via Zalo or by phone; after a form request, staff will message you on WhatsApp. Email: [email protected].

Come early and sit near the stage — improvisation is best heard up close.
