Jazz night «Soft Paws, Quick Turns» at Blake's House of Jazz

   You may recognise the song — you just might not recognise it for long: Sunday night at Blake's House of Jazz is full of twists and turns. If you enjoy familiar tunes in a new shape, end your Hanoi weekend here.

   On stage are the Soft Paws Jazz Trio and guest saxophonist Vladimir. They move freely between jazz, blues, pop, Vietnamese songs and vocal standards, with playful rhythm changes, unexpected quotes and spontaneous detours along the way. The club sums the night up in four words: jazz, blues, playful, eclectic.

   It suits anyone who finds straight standards a little predictable, and anyone curious to hear Vietnamese songs and pop in a jazz club.

   Blake's House of Jazz was opened in 2022 by a group of friends who believe a great jazz show should pull you out of the ordinary and leave you refreshed.

   «Soft Paws, Quick Turns» runs every Sunday; the bar is open 19:00–00:30. The programme is as listed on the club's website in early October: titles and line-ups change from time to time, and on special nights the programme and start time may differ. There is an entrance fee, payable at the end of your visit; the amount is not published on the website.
