Jazz night «Serene Sunday» at Blake's House of Jazz

   Sunday evening at the club belongs to the saxophone, the instrument that also sits in its logo. After a week of fusion, piano and vocals, the programme returns to the most recognisable jazz sound and works at slowing the pace rather than raising it.

   Playing are the Soft Paws Jazz Trio together with Blake. The club states the aim of the night plainly: warm melodies to lift the weight the week has left behind. This is the closing set of the weekly programme and, by its own logic, the calmest of the four evenings.

   Blake's House of Jazz keeps a Thursday-to-Sunday schedule, and each night has a standing role: fusion on Thursday, a duo on Friday, vocals on Saturday, saxophone on Sunday. The club appeared in 2022 and has been built around a single idea ever since — listening to jazz with a cocktail in hand and in company.

   The evening suits anyone who wants a Sunday outing with no consequences for Monday, and anyone visiting a jazz club for the first time: a saxophone programme is the easiest way in of the whole week.

   Closing the weekend with a saxophone in a small room is a calm and workable plan.
