Chinese music night «Vây Giữ» at Thoáng Acoustic

   The one evening of the week that steps away from Vietnamese and English-language repertoire towards Chinese pop. The bet is on a nostalgic sound — the melodies that several generations across Asia associate with Hong Kong cinema and television serials, now played acoustically and live.

   The programme runs under the title «Vây Giữ» and is described by the venue as a nostalgic, deep and magnetic Chinese-music space. It is the only Saturday in the weekly grid given to neither the Vietnamese nor the English-language scene. Singing are Nhung My and Thiều Thảo — the same duo that opened the venue's Chinese-music line.

   For Thoáng Acoustic this is not a one-off experiment: the venue opened at the end of June 2026 with exactly this material, the Hoa Ngữ Tình Ca nights of Chinese love songs performed by the duo Nhung My and Thiều Thảo, and the artwork for those nights pointed straight at the Hong Kong television archive.

   The evening lands with two audiences at once: those who grew up on Chinese serials and their soundtracks, and those who simply want to hear something in Hanoi beyond the standard café-music set. On Saturdays the set starts earlier than on weekdays.

   A Saturday of Chinese ballads in an old Hanoi house is a rare combination for this city, and it earns the trip.
