Minishow «Hoàng Hải»

About the event

High notes land differently when there is nothing but air between the voice and the listener. On a Saturday night in Hanoi, in a live-music tea room where the tables reach the stage, a bright, openly emotional male voice takes the room through the evening.

   In brief:

  • — headliner Hoang Hai (Hoàng Hải), a high, resonant voice with a brightness of its own
  • — music balanced between technique and feeling: the top notes are the strength, the phrasing is what stays with you
  • — a true minishow: none of the distance of a big stage, and no need for layers of production
  • — guests sit at tables, the sound is fully live, seats go by advance booking

He knows how to take a love song past its melody through detail work in the phrasing. The high notes are what people notice first, but what they remember is how he places feeling inside each line, keeping songs soft and unforced so they stay with the room after the music stops. In a space this small, that handling is far easier to hear.

The evening suits you if you like Vietnamese love songs, enjoy a well-shaped melody, and want to hear this voice in the setting that flatters it most. The songs are sung in Vietnamese.

The room matters here as much as the set. Trixie Cafe & Lounge in Đống Đa, a short taxi ride southwest of Hoàn Kiếm lake, has been a minishow address for Vietnamese singers for years, hosting Đàm Vĩnh Hưng, Mỹ Tâm and Hồ Ngọc Hà on the same small stage — and for this singer it is a return, since his previous minishow here took place in August. By day it is a garden cafe; by night it turns into a tea room with live sound.

The venue has not announced a price for the night: its listing gives neither an entry fee nor a table surcharge, so ask about the terms when you reserve a seat.

One evening with nothing but music, low light and a voice strong enough to carry a whole room.
