GastronomicA cup of craft-village spirit, a pot of West Lake lotus tea, an egg coffee or a mocktail made with tropical fruit: four worlds of drinks share some 4,500 m² of open space at Công viên Thiên văn học, the Astronomy Park in Hanoi's Dương Nội ward. If you want an unhurried autumn evening that also shows you what Vietnam drinks and how, this is the weekend to go.
This year's theme is «Hà Nội - Tinh hoa đồ uống Việt», «Hanoi – the essence of Vietnamese drinks». The festival is led by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism together with the Dương Nội ward authorities. Organisers expect around 50,000 visits and 80–100 stands from companies, craft villages, tourism and food businesses and restaurants, plus some international organisations and brands.
The grounds are split into four themed zones:
— Beer and spirits: traditional and modern beer and liquor, craft-village spirits and regional specialities, with tastings, meetings with artisans, simulated production processes and traditional dishes to match
— Tea: Tân Cương tea from Thái Nguyên, Shan Tuyết, Đà Lạt artichoke tea, West Lake lotus tea, herbal and OCOP-certified teas, with tea ceremony corners, brewing demonstrations and artisans on hand
— Coffee: phin drip coffee, egg coffee and espresso, plus brewing and tasting workshops
— Juices and creative drinks: juices, smoothies, fruit teas, drinking yoghurt, kombucha, low-sugar drinks, herbal waters, mocktails and cocktails based on tropical fruit, herbs and Vietnamese produce, with bartender shows and on-the-spot mixing lessons
Hanoi's tourism authorities also use the festival to present the «Bản đồ du lịch đồ uống Hà Nội», a Hanoi drinks tourism map of standout cafés, drink spots and cocktail bars, each with a QR code linking to details. The city aims to turn it into one or two drink-themed tour routes after the festival, and the event also showcases experience tours to villages producing spirits, tea and coffee. On site you order from QR-code menus and pay cashless, with cultural performances, bartending shows and mini-games in between.
It suits tea, coffee and beer lovers who want to try a lot in one outing, families looking for a weekend stroll, and people in food, drink and tourism looking for partners: organisers describe the festival as a meeting point between drinks brands, restaurants and travel companies.
The Hanoi Beverages Festival was first held in 2025, from 17 to 21 September at the Tây Hồ creative space on Trịnh Công Sơn pedestrian street, under the theme «Thưởng vị Hà Nội» («Tasting Hanoi»). Over five days its 80 stands drew more than 20,000 visits, set among replicas of Khuê Văn Các, Đồng Xuân Market, Đường Lâm ancient village, old-quarter iced-tea stalls, state-era beer counters and old-quarter cafés. This year it moves to the Astronomy Park with four themed zones, and the city wants to make it a regular signature event for Hanoi tourism in 2026–2030.
The lotus tea in the tea zone has just gained new status: on 26 June 2026, at the opening of the Hanoi Lotus Festival, the craft of scenting tea with lotus in Quảng An was added by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the list of national intangible cultural heritage. It distils the Hanoian way of enjoying tea, kept alive by generations of artisans on the shores of West Lake.
The festival is part of the October line-up the Hanoi Department of Culture announced for the 72nd anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (10 October 1954 – 10 October 2026), alongside the fireworks over Hoan Kiem Lake and West Lake, as well as the Hanoi Autumn Festival.
The opening ceremony runs from 19:30 to 20:30 on 9 October and the closing ceremony from 17:30 to 18:30 on 11 October. Daily opening hours and entry conditions have not been announced yet.
Come and raise a cup of tea or coffee to Hanoi's autumn at the Astronomy Park.
