Circus show «Biệt Đội Giải Cứu Chị Hằng» (The Squad Rescues Lady Moon)

   A full-moon night turns into a space adventure: a mysterious UFO swoops in and carries off Lady Chị Hằng, and Mr. Cuội's «rescue squad» sets out through acrobatics, juggling, balance acts and aerial silks to bring her back before the Mid-Autumn moon fades.

   Rạp Xiếc Trung Ương (the Central Circus) builds this Mid-Autumn tale out of circus craft mixed with music, dance, comedy and stage lighting - a full storyline, not a string of separate acts, running from the UFO's arrival to a warm, unexpected ending. Artistic direction is by People's Artist Tống Toàn Thắng, staged by NS Phùng Đắc Nhân and NSƯT Đỗ Hùng.

   Remaining performances: Sunday 20/09 at 10:30 and 20:00, and Thursday 24/09 at 20:00.

   It's built for families bringing young children out for Mid-Autumn - young viewers under 80cm tall get in free, and for taller kids it's still a rare chance to see professional circus in central Hanoi. If your child likes UFOs, lion dance and aerial acts, this is worth catching before the run ends.
