About the event

The exhibition «Tranh – Tượng Chân dung Hoạ sĩ & Nhà sưu tập» («Portrait Paintings and Sculptures — Artists & the Collector») presents 25 portrait paintings and sculptures by 12 artists, selected from the collection of Something Gallery in Hanoi.

As the gallery puts it, what artists pursue in a portrait is not just likeness: a work starts with observation but is only complete when the viewer senses a person present before them. The artists span several generations and reach that point in different ways.
