Business EventsWant to compare the year's most talked-about cars without touring a dozen showrooms? Over one weekend in Hanoi, the cars shortlisted in the 12 categories of the Car Choice Awards 2026 stand side by side for you to see up close, and there are test drives too — all before the winners are named.
Vietnam Innovation Mobility Show (VIMS) 2026 is the car and motorbike festival held as part of the Car Choice Awards (CCA), a Vietnamese auto award now in its fifth season under the theme «Shaping The Next Drive – Kiến tạo chuẩn mực mới» («Creating new standards»). Its motto is «not the best, but the best fit» («Không chọn tốt nhất, chỉ chọn phù hợp nhất»), so cars compete by type of use rather than in one overall ranking, and the show floor gathers every model that made the top five of its category.
The car categories fall into three groups:
Public voting closed on 20 September. The vote leaders in the 12 car categories are VinFast VF 5, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe, Volkswagen Viloran, Jaecoo J5 SHS-H, Hyundai Palisade HEV, VinFast VF 8, Jaecoo J5, BYD M6, VinFast VF 3, Geely EX2 and Mazda MX-5. But the public vote is only 30% of the score; the other 70% comes from the expert jury, so the final results are revealed only at the awards gala on the evening of 4 October. According to the Tuổi Trẻ newspaper, about 70% of the top-five places went to electrified models.
Beyond the display there are test drives, entertainment and mini-games. The Bí Mật Xe Biz car community on Facebook runs a mini-game for its members who visit: look around, test-drive or check in at VIMS, then post about it in the group and on your own page from your real account, with the hashtags #cca2026 and #bimatxebiz. Prizes are worth about 38 million VND in total, and results are expected on 6 October.
It is a useful stop if you are about to buy a car and want to compare segments in one place, or if you follow the Vietnamese car market and want to see this year's contenders up close.
The Car Choice Awards are part of Better Choice Awards, a national annual award run since 2022 by the National Innovation Center (NIC) and the media company VCCorp. Last season's gala took place at NIC in Hoa Lac, with the winning cars driven down a catwalk, and the Vietnam Mobility Festival 2025 let the public test-drive cars.
The National Convention Center sits at the junction of Thang Long Avenue and Pham Hung Street, about 10 km from central Hanoi.
If you are torn between a few models, this is the weekend to see them in person, sit inside and pick the one that fits you — which is exactly what the awards are about.
