Culture, Sports and Tourism Week «Ok Om Bok» in Vĩnh Long Province

About the event

For a week at the end of November, the square of Nguyệt Hóa ward becomes the heart of Trà Vinh's Khmer community: more than 300 stalls, a moon-worship festival night, and paddles warming up for the Ngo boat race.

Vĩnh Long province is holding its Culture, Sports and Tourism Week tied to the 2026 Ok Om Bok Festival. Its trade fair for rural industrial products and OCOP goods runs from 18 to 24 November at the Nguyệt Hóa ward square, with over 300 stalls from businesses and cooperatives inside and outside the province.

Around the same period, the week's programme also includes:

  • — Ok Om Bok Festival Night - the Khmer community's traditional moon-worship ceremony, giving thanks to the Moon God after the harvest.
  • — The Ngo boat race - crews from Khmer pagodas across the region racing on the river.
  • — The Trà Vinh Khmer Cultural-Tourism Village - a showcase of Khmer daily life, crafts and architecture from the southern delta.
  • — A traditional Khmer musical instrument performance contest.
  • — Local food and culture promotion activities.

If you want Khmer delta culture off the museum wall and out on the water, this is the week for it: businesses come for new OCOP products and contacts, families get a week of outdoor festival, and photographers get their shot at the Ngo boats racing full speed down the river.

Ok Om Bok is one of the three biggest annual festivals of the Khmer community in southern Vietnam, held on the full moon of the 10th lunar month to thank the Moon God for a good harvest. The Ngo boat race, tied to the region's Khmer pagodas, is the festival's best-known event, drawing thousands of spectators along the riverbanks.

Nguyệt Hóa waits at the end of November, under the same full moon that gives the festival its name.
