Marathon «Yên Tử Heritage Marathon 2026»

#sports#running#marathon#Yen Tu#Quang Ninh

About the event

Run a marathon at the foot of Yen Tu, the sacred mountain where King Tran Nhan Tong renounced his throne and founded Vietnam's own Truc Lam school of Zen more than 700 years ago. In late November, in Quang Ninh's cool dry season, this thousand-year-old Buddhist heritage area hosts a heritage marathon for the first time.

The race is organized by Great Race Solution together with the Quang Ninh Journalists Association; the organizer has served around 100,000 runners at races across Vietnam since 2018. The timing could hardly be better: the Yen Tu — Vinh Nghiem — Con Son, Kiep Bac complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2025, putting the mountain in the world's spotlight.

   Distances and age limits:

   — 42km (18+) and 21km (16+)
— 10km (14+) and 5km (8+)
— Kids Run for ages 5–11

The event takes the weekend of 28–29 November; according to the VBM race calendar the main competitive starts fall on Sunday 29 November. Yen Tu sits near Uong Bi, roughly halfway between Hanoi and Ha Long — an easy weekend trip from either.

   Standard-wave prices (until 22.09): Kids 349,000 VND, 5km — 489,000, 10km — 639,000, 21km — 789,000, 42km — 939,000 VND; later waves cost more, and groups of 15+ get 35% off.

A race that pairs endurance with one of Vietnam's great spiritual landscapes — a strong reason to make this first edition yours.
