Fair «Thương mại Quốc tế Lai Châu 2026» (Lai Chau International Trade Fair)

   The Lâm Viên grounds in Tân Phong ward stay lit for six days: 228 standard stands where goods from Yunnan and four northern Lao provinces sit next to the farm produce and OCOP goods of Vietnam's north-west highlands, with folk performances every evening. This stretch of border country is rarely this busy.

   The fair runs under plan 6619/KH-UBND, issued by the Lai Châu provincial people's committee on 3 August 2026, under the banner «Kết nối giao thương - Mở rộng thị trường - Tăng cường hợp tác quốc tế» - trade links, wider markets, stronger international cooperation. The opening ceremony is at 8pm on 30 October. The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the provincial committee direct it; the provincial finance department leads, working with the industry and trade department. No entry conditions for visitors have been announced.

   The stands fall into three zones:

• — departments, agencies and trade promotion bodies
• — Vietnamese companies and cooperatives
• — foreign companies

   International guests come from Yunnan in China and the Lao provinces of Phongsaly, Oudomxay, Luang Prabang and Bokeo - Lai Châu's closest neighbours across the border. The range is wide: provincial farm produce and OCOP goods, handicrafts, textiles and fashion, consumer goods, machinery, farm supplies, building materials, processed food, plus tourism, finance, banking, insurance and telecom services.

   For companies and cooperatives this is the place to meet distributors, supermarket buyers, e-commerce platforms and import-export partners on both sides of the border, and to sign memoranda and supply agreements. For residents and travellers it is a week-long market with performances, tourism promotion and ethnic culture displays in the middle of a mountain town.

   Inspectors will work throughout the fair on security, fire safety, sanitation and food safety, and to keep counterfeit, substandard and untraceable goods off the stands.

   Lai Châu rarely sits on anyone's itinerary - six days at the end of October are a good reason to change that.
