Talkshow «English Reboot – Đổi Tư Duy, Đổi Cách Học»

   Studying for years and still not being able to use the language is so common that people assume it is their own fault. This talk resets the problem at the root: not how many more hours to put in, but what you are learning for and how to learn so that something actually comes of it.

   The session is hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House for pupils and students across the city. What separates it from a course presentation is the approach: most of the time goes on identifying the common mistakes that keep progress flat, rather than selling a study path.

   Four questions get taken apart:

• — what you are learning English for, and how to set a goal that fits you
• — how to find motivation again and keep studying after you have given up once
• — how to study so that less time produces more real result
• — how to get English out of textbooks and into use as a working tool

   The practical half covers methods for all four skills — listening, speaking, reading and writing — framed to be applied from the first year of university onwards. Attendees can put questions directly to the programme's guest speaker, so if you are stuck at a specific point, come with that question ready.

   It suits first-year students rebuilding study habits, school leavers heading into university, and people who have studied a long time and feel stationary. Participants receive a certificate of attendance, along with gifts from the programme and its partners.

   The venue is inside the National University urban area, a fair distance from the city centre, so allow travel time if you set out from the inner districts. The morning runs two hours only, which means arriving late costs you the most important opening part.
