Talk «Library Talk: Thư viện cộng đồng trong xu hướng mới» (Community libraries and the new trends)

   Starting a small neighbourhood library is the easy part; keeping it alive is not. Books can be collected, but readers, funding and day-to-day operations cannot. This afternoon session at a café that doubles as a library in An Khanh is aimed squarely at the people stuck on those questions.

   It is run by Local Bookable, a non-profit founded in 2019 to connect and support community and private libraries across Vietnam. The meeting belongs to their series of practice-sharing talks, and this edition looks at where community libraries go next.

   Co-hosts include the Vietnam Local Library Network, Thư viện Dương Liễu and the host space Thư viện Doxa.Cafe. All of them already run libraries of their own, so the sharing comes from operating experience rather than theory.

   The audience is people building or running private and community libraries, reading volunteers, and anyone curious about how books actually reach readers here. You leave with working methods from people already doing it, plus a network to keep asking questions.
