Live music night «Friday Live Music with Giggle Band»

   Live music with no stage and no distance: the band plays a few steps from the tables, with 40 taps of craft beer pouring right beside them. That is how Friday nights work at the 7 Bridges taproom in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City — the brewery's second Saigon bar.

   This one belongs to Giggle Band, who are already regulars here: they opened the venue's August run of Friday shows on 7 August, and the organisers are billing this night as their return. Expect catchy US-UK pop and rock covers. The band sums itself up in one line — come to Giggle when you are sad, or when you want to be properly happy.

   The venue is itself part of the Vietnamese craft beer story. 7 Bridges Brewing Co. launched in April 2017 in Da Nang, the city of bridges that gave the brewery its name, and went, in its own words, from garage to gold medals in only two years. Founder and chairman Stanley Boots coined the term impact brewing for the approach: spent grain and other by-products are turned into crackers, vinegar, mustard and soap. At the Asia Beer Championships 2025 its rice lager Heritage Superdry took Champion Beer of Asia, and the company was named Champion Small-Sized Brewery of Asia. Its taprooms now run from Hanoi and Hoi An to Ninh Binh, Binh Duong and Saigon.

   If you live or work downtown, this is an easy Friday: come alone or bring people, it works either way, and the room is a mix of Saigon locals and expats. If you care about the beer as much as the music, ask what seasonal brews are on — they are poured only at the taprooms and rotate constantly, so no two visits pour the same.

   Get there early if you want a table close to the band, and let someone else pick the soundtrack for your weekend.
