Halloween tribute night «Dead Man's Party Vol IV» at Backbeat

   Five Saigon bands, each channelling a legend: on Halloween night Backbeat on Trần Não street turns into a tribute stage with live music from start to finish. The organisers say Dead Man's Party is back for its fourth volume.

   The line-up:

• — AM as Arctic Monkeys;
• — Bùi Viện Banshees as Weezer;
• — Skeleton Goode & Friends as Frank Sinatra, with a live horn section;
• — Smithscetera as Joy Division;
• — Lotus Head, a new band in town, as Radiohead.

   Between sets DJs Liamo and Tina Turnatrick spin vinyl and keep the party going late. There is a costume competition with a case of Huda beer for the winner. Advance tickets cost less than at the door.

   A night for fans of alternative rock and post-punk — and for anyone who wants real bands at Halloween rather than DJs alone.
