Play «Thiên Thần Nhỏ Của Tôi» («My Little Angel»)

   Hồng Hạc Theatre brings to the stage a novella by Nguyen Nhat Anh (Nguyễn Nhật Ánh), the most widely read author of Vietnamese fiction for young readers — the writer most locals your age grew up on.

   The story follows a ten-year-old boy whose family moves into a new house with a garden, where he befriends an eight-year-old girl living nearby. Their friendship runs through all the joys and small griefs that childhood can hold.

   What makes this staging unusual for a foreign audience: it runs with English subtitles, still a rarity on the Vietnamese drama stage. If you have wanted to try local theatre but never got past the language barrier, this is a rare opening.
