Play «Người Điên Trong Ngôi Nhà Cổ» (The Madman in the Old House)

A lawyer visits his fiancée's family home before their wedding - and the calm shatters when her father is gravely wounded in a mysterious attack. Following the clues, he slowly uncovers injustices buried for decades. «Người Điên Trong Ngôi Nhà Cổ» (The Madman in the Old House) is Hoang Thai Thanh's mystery drama.

Written by Ngọc Linh, directed by Thành Hội. Cast: Thành Hội, Ái Như, Nguyễn Long, Công Danh, Thế Hải, Hoài Thương, Huỳnh Thiện Trung, Tấn Đạt, Hoài Nguyên, Bá Phong, Phi Long, Ánh Sao.

Next performance: Sunday 25 October at 3pm, tickets 280,000–300,000₫ depending on the seat category; the previous one was on 26 September. Non-refundable once bought.

Good for anyone who likes a whodunit angle in their theatre - a family secret unravelling layer by layer - rather than a pure psychological tragedy. It's in Vietnamese with no subtitles. Staged for adults: children under 6 shouldn't attend, over 6 need their own ticket.

A solid first pick if you want to try Hoang Thai Thanh with a plot-driven story that's easy to follow. The venue is a 4th-floor black box at 139 Bắc Hải - book ahead for the 25 October show.
