Horror play «Ngăn Lạnh Số 44» (Cold Chamber No. 44)

   A drawer in a morgue gets opened, and what comes out is less a ghost story than an investigation: every answer costs somebody their secret.

   The production is billed as psychological crime with horror elements. The script is by Dinh Manh Phuc (Đinh Mạnh Phúc) and Le Quoc Nam (Lê Quốc Nam), with Le Quoc Nam directing and People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau (Trần Ngọc Giàu) as artistic adviser. Viet Huong (Việt Hương) plays Ms Hanh (bà Hạnh), the hinge on which the chain of secrets turns.

   Truong Hung Minh's stage made its name on comedy, so a straight horror piece is a deliberate swerve this season. The house on Vĩnh Viễn, near the Lý Thái Tổ roundabout, is small enough that the blackouts land hard.

   The play is staged on separate evenings rather than in a continuous run: the next one is on 25 October at 19:30, and tickets are on sale.

   Read the warnings before you book: the producers state the play is not for anyone under 16, for pregnant women, or for people with heart conditions. Inside the hall there is no filming or photography, no smoking, phones on silent, and only food and drink bought on site.
