Musical «Chef Show» in Hanoi

   Knives chopping, water boiling, a pan sizzling — none of it from a kitchen, all of it from the performers' mouths: every sound and every note in this show is 100% live beatbox and a cappella, and there is not a single line of dialogue. You need neither Korean nor Vietnamese.

   «Chef Show» is the current name of the musical «Bibap», inspired by the mixed-rice dish bibimbap and one of the shows that made K-Food musicals a thing on international stages. This return to Vietnam is part of Touring K-Arts: 24 September at Star Galaxy, Hanoi, then 27 September at the Viet – Tiep Friendship Labour Culture Palace in Hai Phong. The story is a cook-off in a restaurant kitchen: the charming «Red Chef» against the knife-wielding «Green Chef», round by round through sushi, pizza and Vietnamese phở, with bibimbap as the final — plus b-boying, acrobatics and martial arts.

   Good for families with children, for foreign visitors who do not speak the language, and for anyone who likes theatre but not sitting still: the story is told through movement, expression and sound rather than words.
