Improv show «Normal People»

   The quiet joy of a shared habit, the raw grief of a final goodbye: out of ordinary moments like these, students of Hanoi's The Improv Hub build unscripted stories that land deep. Normal People is the Hub community's favourite format, and this autumn it is back.

   In the Hub's own words, Normal People is a deep dive into the courage to be fully human on stage, where everyday actions and simple relationships turn into deeply meaningful storytelling. The big question of the night: «What are we, humans, without emotions?» On stage are seven Hub students — the Hub's student showcases are its graduation shows.

   As the Hub explains it, improv is a collaborative form of spontaneous creation: learning it means welcoming the unexpected and building stories, characters and moments together, drawing on one another's ideas and each person's own perspective.

   The night is for anyone who loves theatre about real people and everyday life, for those weighing up an improv course who want to see where it leads, and for friends of the performers.

   The Hub gives a heads-up: the performance may evoke heavy emotions. Contributions are optional: whatever you give, by QR code or in the donation box at the entrance, goes entirely into the Hub's scholarship fund for future students facing financial barriers. You can sign up through a form on the Hub's website; the organisers ask you to register only if you are sure you can come.
