SportsA final gives nobody a practice run: every possession counts towards how the season ends. On their home floor in Saigon, Saigon Heat meet Hanoi Buffaloes in the second game of the Vietnamese professional basketball final, in an arena where the front rows sit close enough to hear the shoes on the boards.
The series poster carries a single line: "let us go on writing history". This season Saigon Heat play under a 15 years of pride emblem, and the club's own ticket page introduces it as the first Vietnamese professional side to represent the country in the ASEAN Basketball League and as the reigning champion of the domestic league.
The short of it:
— this is game two of the final series, not a mid-season friendly;
— the visitors come from Hanoi, which adds a north-versus-south edge to the night;
— the arena sells courtside places, a dedicated fan block and regular stands;
— a basketball game runs about two hours including the breaks between quarters.
It works both for people who followed the whole season and for anyone who has never been inside the arena: the rules are clear within ten minutes, and the atmosphere of a final needs no explanation. Come a little early, because the warm-up and the line-up announcement are when the stands start making noise.
The 2026 Vietnamese professional basketball league runs with six clubs: besides the hosts and Hanoi Buffaloes there are Ho Chi Minh City Wings, Da Nang Dragons, Nha Trang Dolphins and Can Tho Catfish. The home club's own ticket schedule shows its route to the final going through a playoff against Nha Trang Dolphins, while Hanoi Buffaloes are a side Saigon Heat already hosted back in the group stage.
The arena used to be called CIS Arena and now carries the MLC name, and it remains the team's regular indoor floor. A game is played in four quarters with a longer break in the middle and entertainment between the periods, so the evening is filled out rather than being basketball alone.
Pick your colours and turn up to back your team in the game that decides the season.
