Metal night «The Dread Below» at Blue Monkey Saigon

   An industrial noise project from Costa Rica plays Vietnam for the first time, as part of an Asian tour. The stage is a bar in An Khánh that Saigon's metal scene already treats as home ground: harsh sound, industrial pulse and physical performance in one evening.

   Delirio De Cordura has been running since 2008 out of Alajuela, Costa Rica. The project works in three modes: industrial metal with black, death metal and grindcore influences; raw industrial and EBM; and transgressive noise performance. It has played across Europe, Asia, the Caucasus and Latin America, and shared stages with Suicide Commando, Nnja Riot and Cedrik Fermont. Its latest album, «Metalurgia», came out on 10 August 2024.

   Three names on the bill:

• — Delirio De Cordura (Costa Rica) — headliner, first Vietnam show
• — Rayzorwire — the Saigon band hosting the night and playing it
• — thryv — opener, fresh off a NoCover show

   The night suits listeners into metal, industrial and noise, and anyone who prefers a performance to a straight set. Blue Monkey is a bar in An Khánh, formerly Thảo Điền, and a regular address for the city's metal nights.

   This kind of sound rarely travels to Vietnam, so the 25th is the evening to catch it.
