Benefit show «Quà của Quỷ II – Chung Kết»

   Eleven bands in one night, entry by donation and a room every punk fan in Saigon knows. This is the closing night of the second season of a self-run show series, with local bands playing back to back from early evening until morning. Everything collected at the door goes to a charitable cause.

   The finale is called «Quà của Quỷ II – Chung Kết», roughly the Devil's Gift. The bill opens with Cút Lộn, a band that also co-organises the night, alongside Cơm Chó, Cống Bà Xếp, Death to America and Hướng Dẫn Nấu Cháo Tại Nhà. The second half brings Nguyễn Hồng Giang, Abysmal Grumpet, Nedule, 2stöne, Moeth and Tô. The venue is Úm Ba La in An Khánh, a small room used to improvised gig nights.

   If you like punk and hardcore in a small room, where the band stands in front of you rather than on a raised stage, this night is for you. It is also a rare chance to hear eleven names in one sitting, including groups that play very seldom.

   One thing worth knowing in advance: the organisers have not said in the announcement who exactly receives the money, so ask at the door if that matters to you.

   For the minimum donation you get most of a night of live music and a contribution that goes with it.
