Fan event «MoonLight»

   A Chinese actor turns twenty-nine in the middle of September, and his Vietnamese fandom is marking the date a week early — in a small café in central Ho Chi Minh City rather than anywhere with a stage. Three hours on a Sunday afternoon, games, a tea break and a pile of presents the fans assembled themselves.

   The birthday belongs to Tian Xuning (田栩宁, born Tian Lei — 田雷), a Chinese actor and model born on 19 September 1997 in Jining, Shandong province. He entered the industry in 2020 and is managed by Huace Film and Television. International audiences know him as Chi Cheng in «Revenged Love» (逆爱), the 24-episode adaptation of Chai Ji Dan's web novel «Counter Attack» that aired from 16 June to 12 August 2025. Before it came «The Silent Wife» and «The Little Red Matchmaker», both released in 2024.

   The meet-up is called «MoonLight», and the poster draws him chibi-style, sitting on a crescent moon among the clouds. The organiser, a fan who signs herself Amy, has prepared 50 main gift sets of nine items each:

• — a lenticular card;
• — two postcards;
• — a ball-shaker toy, one of three designs at random;
• — a badge;
• — a hand fan;
• — a phone charm;
• — a felt doll;
• — two extras to be announced later.

   The presents are not only about the birthday boy. The announcement says the sets cover Ning, Du and the NingDu pairing, and the post is tagged with Zi Yu (梓渝), his co-lead in «Revenged Love». The afternoon runs in order: check-in, a round of solo and team games with more prizes to win, photographs and the birthday song, and a large giveaway to close. Extra sets have been donated by other fans, and a tea break counter is stocked with water, light snacks and cakes; a bag is handed out for carrying everything home.

   Registration opens at 20:00 on 1 September 2026 on the organiser's Facebook page, and until then there is no guest list. There is no separate entry fee — you simply pay the café for whatever you drink. One thing the announcement leaves out is the name of the café itself: only the street and house number are given, with parking right outside the door.

   His actual birthday falls on Saturday 19 September, and the fandom moved its own celebration a week forward and called it a preview. If you have watched this drama alone, with nobody in the city to talk to about it, this is the afternoon that fixes that.
