«Ảnh Ảo» (False Image) Play

   A script by Minh Hoang, staged by Le Nguyen Tuan Anh, with People's Artist Hong Van as artistic adviser. The title says plainly what the story circles: the image a person builds in place of themselves, and what it costs a household to live alongside that image.

   Merited Artist Pham Thi Thanh Van, known to audiences as Oc Thanh Van (born 18 February 1984), plays Co Ut. She began acting in 2005, but her name was made in 2008 by the role of Cam Linh in «Cô gái xấu xí», the Vietnamese version of the internationally franchised series. Beyond acting she is a familiar television presenter.

   The cast also includes Nguyen Hoa Hiep as Mr Tien, Lac Hoang Long as Mr Suu, Le Nguyen Tuan Dung as Khoi, Bui Cong Danh as Mr Nam, Le Nguyen Tuan Anh as Ly Tien Tai, Khanh Tien Leona as Thuy and Tran Truc Anh as little Yen, alongside the resident company.

   The theatre carries the name of Hong Van (born 26 May 1966) — performer, stage director and producer. A detail worth knowing: from 1989 to 2000 she was an actress at the Small Stage Drama Theatre, the 5B stage, before founding the Van Tuan stage and film company in 2001 and building her own house. She was named a People's Artist in 2011.

   Hong Van Stage is among the most talked-about drama houses in the city, known for naturalistic playing and productions built around family life. The auditorium sits inside the Student Cultural House on Dien Bien Phu street.
