"In Circulation | Lưu Chuyển" — solo debut by Võ Huỳnh Phú

   An artist who never went through an academic art school — and precisely because of that, his language moves freely between image and object, between painting and sculpture. This is his first solo show, in a gallery on Pasteur.

   “In Circulation” gathers a set of works on paper and sculptures, tracing how images, materials and systems of meaning shift through cultural and everyday life. A background in graphic design gives Võ Huỳnh Phú a sharp eye for the structures, patterns and half-hidden details of ordinary situations — the things a trained eye tends to walk past.

— Buddhist philosophy and Vietnamese mythology

— A personal archive and visual reference system he has built for himself over the years

   It is for viewers interested in practices that grew outside the academy, for designers, and for anyone who likes seeing works on paper set beside sculpture rather than one or the other. Here questions of faith and consciousness are taken straight into the work and rebuilt in the language of paper, pigment and earth. The gallery sits on Pasteur, in easy reach of the centre.
