Club night «Shanked Douc Release Party» at Mirage

A new Hanoi label named after the red-shanked douc langur throws its first release party — and invites most of the familiar faces of the capital's electronic scene onto the floor at Mirage on Saturday 26 September, from 10 pm until morning. The organisers call it a «marathon of music» with pre, post and afters.

   In brief:

   — release party of Shanked Douc Records
— line-up: CONG, Simon Felix, Devin, Sacre, Steve Obi, KHCBT
— electro, acid, «psychetronics»
— entry 150,000 VND; presented by Outlandish Festival

By the organisers' account, the label launched a few months ago with the aim of helping preserve its «creative critter», Vietnam's red-shanked douc, and this night gathers the kindred spirits behind its first release. A listening session at Geist comes earlier in the day; Mirage by West Lake takes the part that runs late.

For electro and acid listeners, for anyone who has followed Hanoi's scene long enough to know every name on the poster, and for anyone curious how a home-grown label sounds. Mirage is at 99 Xuân Diệu in Quảng An, on the Tây Hồ peninsula north of the Old Quarter.
