Club night «NONNONNON Takeover»

For one night the whole programme is handed over to visitors: an underground community from Bangkok takes the booth in Hanoi and brings its own way of selecting records and building a room. If you would rather hear a crew you do not already know by heart, this is your Saturday.

NON NON NON is a queer and women-led underground community and agency based in Bangkok, home to East and Southeast Asian artists, which nurtures the city's underground through inclusive spaces for artistic exchange. A takeover means they programme the night end to end rather than guesting on someone else's bill.

Leading it is Mae Happyair, co-founder of NON NON NON, who has been making moves in Bangkok's underground for 10 years. A vocal and empowering figure for the LGBTQIA+ scene across Asia, she is on a mission to create safe spaces where people can lose their inhibitions, and she works the floor with EBM, techno and thumping house. She first started sharing her music in Bangkok's fashion studios, back when she worked as a fashion producer.

With her: Phát Paris (bung lon), a name born from the fusion of drag artistry and the DJ world, whose sets run on raw and spicy energy; and PH00000NG (Gãy).

This one suits techno and underground electronic listeners, and anyone looking for a dance floor that is openly queer-friendly. The venue is a converted warehouse on Phúc Tân street in central Hanoi, with the club room on the 4th floor and a rooftop bar on the 5th and 6th. Ticket prices for this night have not been announced yet; cheaper online tickets appear via the link in Unmute's Instagram bio and on Resident Advisor. Other contact: [email protected].

Come with an open ear — that is the whole point of a takeover.
