Workshop «mình có 2 người» with She She Pop (It Takes Two of Us)

   Four days of working directly with a German artist collective that has been making and performing together for thirty years, open to people who come in pairs. Only 8 duos are taken in each city, which makes this a genuinely scarce place rather than an open class.

   The Vietnamese edition takes «intergenerational» as its theme. Working from techniques She She Pop developed while making pieces with their own parents and with communities that do not share a language, each pair plays, talks and tests ways of turning ordinary family stories into material for a short performance. The central question the group sets: how do you respect each person's own account without falling into the trap of mere recounting. At the end each duo shares what they have made, in a small and informal setting.

   She She Pop is six members who graduated together from the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen in the early 1990s, right after the Berlin Wall came down, and formed the group to work through what was changing around them. In their pieces the members perform as themselves and the audience is usually pulled into direct contact with the subject. Signature works include «Frühlingsopfer», «Testament» and «Oratorium».

   Applications are open to duos meeting these conditions:

• — two Vietnamese people who work together or intend to — friends, siblings, aunt and niece, parent and child, colleagues
• — at least one of the two practising in culture or the arts, in any field
• — willing to share stories about the generations in their own family

   Priority goes to pairs from two different generations, to pairs including a woman or a queer member, and in Hanoi specifically to applicants with a movement background. An application is one joint introduction of about 300 words plus two short CVs or bios of about 200 words each.

   The Hanoi deadline is 23:59 on 2 September 2026, with results sent by email on 5 September 2026. The programme is co-initiated by MORUA, The Run, Goethe-Institut Hanoi and Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City, funded through the WAYS programme of the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. The exact Hanoi venue has not been announced yet.
